Silent Helpers
The project has set the goal of developing new aids for everyday usage for the deaf and hearing impaired persons. Tallinn Helen School for the hearing impaired persons was the partner in this project. Design students were granted the possibility to blend in the school life, to get acquainted with children, be their daily shadows, and they went through emphatic behaviour models and scenarios. The user-oriented approach in the design process was ensured by Professor Turkka Keinonen, University of Art and Design, Helsinki, Finland. The thorough investigative approach lead to unexpected results, meaningful for the hearing impaired persons. Based on some ideas students of IT College provided technological solutions.
