SpringON
The collection comprises of three traditional textiles: the carpet, the tablecloth, and the pillow. Together they make up an interactive youthful collection of interior textiles.
Flower Cloth (Kai Eichen)
A traditional textile can have interactive properties nowadays, yet retaining its centuries old function in new interiors with changeable functions. While sitting in a café and waiting for a friend to come, as well as being together with a friend once can create changeable textile surfaces while moving a hot cup around on the tablecloth. In contact with a hot cup or with warm hands the tablecloth loses some of its pattern, revealing a puzzle which can well contain hidden verbal messages. Both thermochromic and ordinary printing inks have been used for producing the tablecloth.
Clowd Pillow (Marit Mihklepp)
The swing and swinging has great significance in Estonian folk tradition. Northern lights and glowing clouds light up the dark winter season. The pillow swing combines flying (swinging) and northern lights (green and blue LEDs). The pillow is equipped with a system of LEDs which is connected to a 9V battery via a switch of conductible textile. In the lower part of the pillow ends of light cable stick through the upholster textile and start to glow when a person sits on a switch on top of the pillow, thus closing the electric circuit.
Lawn Rug (Hanna Tiidus)
Spring season has provided inspiration for the texture and colour of the rug. The green felt strips imitate the patches of green new lawn. While sitting or walking barefoot on the rug one might experience a true natural feel. The heating system located between the two layers of the rug is enough to do away with the coldness of winter.
